 Listening
to music at bedtime can help little ones to quiet down,
relax, and be ready to fall asleep. A regular nightly routine
at bedtime adds to the security a child feels, and high
quality music will be a positive addition to the routine.
This is not a CD of nursery rhymes; it has more value than
that. Rather than mere infant entertainment, the poems and
music here will benefit babies, as well as youngsters through
early and middle childhood, and beyond.
A
valuable feature of the CD (and book) is the gently instructive
quality of many of the texts. Included are poems which help
children recognize themselves as cooperative and friendly
members of society, and as loved children of God. Through
imagery and prayer they are encouraged to develop a good
base of values for their perspectives and behavior patterns.
The ideas they learn from these poems, which are taken from
classic as well as newly written sources, will help broaden
their view of their world, and can help them become responsible
citizens in it.
